Dr. F. Amos Bailey is a nationally recognized leader in palliative care. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the University of Alabama, Birmingham and the Director, Palliative Care, Birmingham VA Medical Center. He founded the Balm of Gilead Center program at Cooper Green Hospital, in Birmingham, Alabama which was awarded the 2001 Circle of Life Award. Dr. Bailey is palliative care clinician, teacher and researcher and the author of the book "palliative Response"

VJ Periyakoil

VJ Periyakoil

Dr. Vyjeyanthi (VJ) Periyakoil is a nationally recognized leader in palliative care. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine, and the Director of the Stanford/VA Palliative Care Fellowship Program. She is the PI for this end of life curricular project and also the Director of the VA Nationwide Palliative Care Network. Her current projects focus on cross-cultural issues in aging and end-of-life. In addition, she has a keen interest in the pedagogy of virtual education.
